911 Dispatcher Location Cotulla, TX :
Dispatches calls for emergency and non-emergency situations for the County. Provides information to police and fire units, connects callers with County and City services, and files and organizes warrants as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Sets priorities among incoming events and dispatches the police to necessary locations using both radios and computers.
- Maintains radio contact to ensure accurate status of the exact location of equipment and personnel.
- Receives and transmits telephone and radio emergency calls, as well as non-emergency calls, complaints, and inquiries from the public.
- Performs related work as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position will have the following exposures

- Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have a valid Driver's License
