Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work ASRC Federal Communications is seeing a Electrician for our ISS2 contact supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island. It's a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and on month off unpaid, Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. **You are responsible for the flight from your home base to HNL.** Transportation to wake island is provided by government sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position. **Essential Duties & Job Functions** + Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment + Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants. + Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications. + Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to: + hydraulic/electric benders, + knockout punch sets, + cable puller, meggers, + hi-pot equipment, + volt meters, + multi-testers + ammeter + Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island. **Minimum Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED + Valid Journeyman Electrician's License + Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations. + Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management + Strong MS Office and other computer skills + Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules + Ability to speak, write and read English. + Must have state drives licenses and acceptable record. + Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, fingerprints, and drug screening. Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
