The Endoscopic Technician assists in endoscopic procedures by supporting surgeons and gastroenterologists with patient positioning, observation, and vital signs monitoring, under supervision. Responsibilities also include managing patient flow, stocking supplies, and performing clerical tasks within a healthcare setting. This per diem role is based at Providence Alaska Medical Center and requires prior experience and certified training in related healthcare support.
Description
Under supervision, the Endoscopy Technician safely performs endoscopic procedural assistance and ensures a safe environment. A variety of patient care duties include positioning, patient observation, taking vital signs, and other duties that assist the Registered Nurse. Under close supervision, technical endoscopic assistance to General Surgeons and Gastroenterologists as well as other Endoscopic providers and staff will be provided. Additional responsibilities include facilitating patient flow and transportation, stocking rooms, ordering supplies, answering phones, and performing a variety of clerical tasks. This is not intended to be a comphehensive list of all the duties the technician may be required to perform while assisting in routine procedures.
