We are a new Restaurant location that will be opening soon once construction is complete. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for you to join an amazing Team as we open Sioux City’s newest Chick-fil-A!

As the HR Director, you will serve as a strategic leader within our organization, responsible for shaping and stewarding our people culture while actively engaging in daily restaurant operations. Positioned above the Team Leader level, this role is key to developing talent, driving recruiting efforts, ensuring HR compliance, and mentoring emerging leaders. You’ll play a vital role in building a high-character, high-performance team that reflects Chick-fil-A’s values of excellence, hospitality, and care.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Uphold and model Chick-fil-A’s core values of hospitality, integrity, excellence, and care
  • All leaders, regardless of level, are expected to actively lead daily restaurant operations — taking ownership of shifts, guiding teams in real time, and ensuring excellence in service, speed, and execution
  • Champion the Restaurant's talent strategy by leading recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retaining top-tier Team Members and Leaders
  • Oversee Team Leader development, offering coaching, feedback, and structured growth plans
  • Collaborate with the Operator and leadership team to shape the organization’s culture and leadership pipeline
  • Lead HR compliance efforts, including accurate record-keeping, policy enforcement, and adherence to local and federal labor laws
  • Manage scheduling systems, performance reviews, team communication platforms, and recognition programs
  • Own and refine onboarding and training processes to ensure consistency and clarity for all new hires
  • Own the full employee life cycle, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, development, performance management, and, when necessary, offboarding — all executed with excellence, care, and alignment to our values.
  • Actively participate in daily operations — working in the business to understand team needs, support team morale, and model servant leadership
  • Address and resolve employee concerns with discretion, care, and professionalism
  • Utilize metrics and insights (e.g., retention, engagement, performance data) to drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate ownership mentality, taking initiative and solving problems proactively
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives
  • All of our leaders at any level are also responsible for leading daily operations in the Restaurant leading shifts

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (restaurant or retail preferred)
  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, including hiring, compliance, and performance management
  • Proven ability to develop leaders, coach individuals, and lead teams through change
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams with grit, positivity, and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and potential holidays
