Supports a secure, world-wide, and highly reliable communications?infrastructure by providing Architecture, Design, Development, Testing and?Implementation of Network Services for Wide?Area Networks (WAN), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Data Center Networks (DCN), and Satellite Communications (SATCOM).

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer/Architect to perform as a consultant for leading edge information technologies and methodologies to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. Our dynamic team provides full spectrum network connectivity including architecture, engineering, development, integration, deployment, configuration management, project management and network security services to the global enterprise, as well as systems and cloud engineering services for application modernization and transition of legacy applications into hybrid cloud platforms.

Duties may include but are not limited to: Design and plan network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options. Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network. Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering science, or related discipline and minimum of 12 years of IT related experience is required. Five (5) years of additional IT related experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have experience architecting solutions for needs throughout the IC, including IP routing, addressing, IP Multicast, IP QOS, and IP encryptors.
  • Demonstrated experience with WAN boundary integration and Red and Black WAN design.
  • Ability to develop network architectures and work with customers to develop test plans and conduct testing of architecture as required.
  • Ability to provide highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems and manage work as defined by customer.
  • Active/current TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.

Details

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
