General Statement of Duties:Under the supervision of the Music Minister and the Pastor, musician will encourage full, active, and conscious participation of the faithful at parish liturgies by providing music direction for the congregation. Familiarity with the Catholic liturgy is required.
Successfully pass a Level II (FBI) criminal history background check and attend Safe Environment Training.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities – Music:
1 – Provide piano and organ music at two masses (9:30 and 11:30) on Sunday mornings.
2 – Provide piano and organ music at holy day services as directed.
3 – Work with cantors for each liturgy, or be able to sing at the liturgies where a cantor is not available.
4 – Assist the Music Minister in the recruitment and development of cantors.
5 – Provide thirty (30) days’ advance, written notice to the Pastor, if employee wishes to terminate their employment.
Salary:Salary shall be on a flat stipend basis, with time sheets filed with the Pastor bi-weekly.
