Job Description and Duties

DSH-Napa is looking for a full-time permanent Protestant Chaplain. Candidates must  meet the qualifications and have successfully passed their state eligibility exam. Here’s the link for the examination Protestant Chaplain EX 2792 .  Please read the exam bulletin in its entirety and follow the instructions. 

The Chaplain is expected to provide spiritual support and guidance to all patients whether under forensic or civil commitment and of various faiths/ beliefs. Experience working in a forensic setting like DSH-Napa hospital or serving persons who have been diagnosed with mental illness is a plus.  Candidates must be able to comply with safety rules and should have ability to maintain professional boundaries. To fully meet the needs of the organization, the work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work some Holidays.

Special Requirements

Currently ordained, duly accredited by, and in good standing with a nationally recognized Protestant denomination. and Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a minimum of 12 semester units in counseling, psychology or a related field.
