What You Can Expect

As our Sales Representative I with ENGIE North America, your primary objective is to prospect and acquire new Commercial and Industries (C&I) customers for ENGIE's retail business in the Texas (ERCOT) region, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities. In this role you will self-originate opportunities by identifying prospective (C&I) customers using marketing campaigns and Hoovers data while building your own market knowledge. You will cold call and develop networking skills, resulting in the creation of a pipeline within your prescribed territory. This role sits in Houston, TX and will report to the Regional Vice President of Sales - ERCOT.

  • You will evaluate customer creditworthiness according to credit guidelines, utilizing financial literacy and relationship management abilities to gather necessary data for credit risk analysis
  • You'll gather consumption data and account information to qualify customer interest, tailoring price proposals to meet their specific needs and load patterns
  • You will master ENGIE product offerings and communicate how proposals align with customer requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs
  • You will utilize questioning, listening, and persuasive skills to assess customer needs, propose tailored electricity supply offers, negotiate terms, and close transactions, collaborating with key teams for seamless service delivery and revenue realization

What You'll Bring
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field where you studied and developed a foundational knowledge of business principles, management, and marketing
  • As an early career position there is no minimum amount of experience. You are expected to gain experience in retail energy sales and in developing and implementing effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • You demonstrate persuasive communication, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to interact with executive-level decision-makers
  • You are a self-driven individual capable of quickly learning new products, processes, and systems
  • You demonstrate the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently on a timely basis while maintaining accuracy in your work

Additional Details
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, allowing for a mix of remote work and in-office presence
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Ability to travel via airplane, car, and train as required
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record for travel and car rental
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $55,300.00 - $84,755.00 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
