Job Description
The Sewing Machine Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining our embroidery machines, heat seal presses, digital printers and laser cutting machines.
SCHEDULE: - 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday with Overtime (Saturday 7am – noon) as required.
LOCATION: - 270 Samuel Barnet Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Repair of Cap Frames & other machine attachments.
- Cleaning and lubrication of embroidery machines.
- Repairs for any production equipment.
- PM on all machinery.
- Daily record keeping of machine tasks performed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: - Ability to follow verbal directions.
- Ability to read instructions in English.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting/problem solving tasks.
- Ability to work with tools and machinery.
- Skill set to learn how to troubleshoot and repair all equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive use of hands, fingers and arms.
- Ability to demonstrate fine dexterity skills.
- Ability to move about the facility.
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, kneel and crouch.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: - Exposure to moderate noise level.
VISION REQUIREMENT: - Close and distance vision.
- Vision to be able to thread a needle.
- Color vision.
