Location: Ann Arbor, MI, United States
Company: Woven by Toyota (via HireArt)
Job Type: Full-time (30+ hours/week), On-site
Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Assignment Length: 6-month contract

Job Summary

Woven by Toyota is seeking Test Driver (Robot Cars) to support autonomous vehicle development through safe driving, data collection, and basic troubleshooting. This position involves operating development vehicles on public and private roads to gather data and support engineering initiatives. Ideal candidates will have experience in vehicle testing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in dynamic environments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Operate autonomous development vehicles safely on various routes for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day).
  • Maintain safety protocols inside and outside the vehicle.
  • Conduct data collection using proprietary software and hardware tools.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering and operations teams.
  • Monitor vehicle systems and report technical issues clearly and promptly.
  • Provide mentorship to new drivers and support team training efforts.
  • Maintain and distribute operational documentation and logs.
  • Represent the company professionally to the public and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid U.S. driver's license with 7+ years of driving experience and a clean DMV record (records will be reviewed).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and use proprietary tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions, including snow.
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug screenings, DMV checks, and criminal background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with autonomous vehicles or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • 1–2 years of experience driving 5+ hours per day in professional settings.
  • Previous experience with field operations or AV testing is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday

  • AM Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • PM Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • Flexible scheduling available
